Here goes the explanation in a very simple manner and i hope i got this right

INDISCRETION (lack of discretion/caution) is proscribed in a CONVENTION (meeting) :: Similarly an Overdose of any medicine or what so ever is proscribed in a Prescription

Similarly overdose is not following or disregarding prescription

How i look at it is,
Indiscretion(secondary meaning) = petty misdeed;
So Indiscretion is going against the Convention(or propriety)

Similarly, Overdose is going against the directions specified in Prescription.
