E.

A precipice is an extreme incline, and a zealot is an extreme partisan.

An incline is NOT an elevated position. It is a synonym for “slope”. A precipice is an extremely steep, nearly vertical slope.

Precipice is a higher degree of incline
mutation is a higher degree of change…
so the answer is A..

Mutation and change are synonyms, not differences in degree.

Well Mutation and change may be synonymous but there is a difference between them. Mutation is a sudden rapid change;precipice is sudden extreemly steep
As for your answer a zealot is one who is extremely eager but may not be parisan. Partisan is being partial or being a bigot. Pls let me know if you have any further clarifications. I hope GRE team will agree with this:-)

@ Sravan

A mutation CAN BE sudden (in the strict biological/genetic sense) but the general definition is simply “an act or process of changing” without any qualifiers about the rate of change.

However, a zealot is defined as someone who is very strongly opinionated (religiously, politically, etc.) and biased, and is therefore an extreme partisan. In other words, one cannot be a zealot without being partisan.

You’re welcome. The bridge is: B is an extreme A (must reverse the order for it to work).

Precipice: a cliff or almost vertical
incline: deviation from vertical, i.e, sth that is not vertical.
Now, there is only one relationship, that is antonymous or 1 = !2.
1) change=!mutation—> wrong
2) selfishness=!generosity. (could be)
3) Wilderness=!forest—> wrong
4) Talent = !obsession—> wrong
5) partisan=!zealot—> wrong again. (if it’s correct, then it would mean partisan=benign, generous etc)

answer is e.
an incline can either be slight or steep (as in a precipice). And one who is partisan can be slightly biased or steeply biased (as in one with zeal)

precipice will need to be inclined and mutation will need to have undergone change.
also a zealot is a high degree of partisan
but still i will go with A
