dear friend consider ‘x’ be the capacity of hall.so tickets sold
are x+150.audiance are divided in 2 groups for each programme. so in each group people are (x+150)/2. each group is equal to 2/3 of capacity
so (x+150)/2=2x/3
solving eqn we get x=450

I cannot read the full text of problems 2 and 3, but I agree with x=450

2/3 x + 2/3x=x+150 (two performances at 2/3 capacity = total tickets sold)
4/3x=x+150
4x=3x+450
x=450

Anmwer to second question is B.
explaination –

The ratio of households with and without car out of 5 sample is 3:2.
Now out of 3000 , 3/5 have the two cars exactly.
3000 x 3/5 = 1800.
